Owning a dog can be very stressful -like having an unexpected baby- if you aren’t prepared for that kind of responsibility. Sadly enough, I have seen so many families giving up on their pets because they need “so much work”. I don’t see it “so much work” as much as I see that people rush into owning pets without preparing, educating and planning for having a new soul in the family.
Dogs significantly improved our quality of life. Here is how… 🙂
Having a dog makes home always so much fun. I don’t remember I ever felt lonely in the house when Leo is around. Besides he is a really good listener!
I will never forget when I had a severe colon attack in the bathroom and couldn’t seek help. I have no idea how Leo sensed that I was terribly sick; he rushed like crazy to Ahmad, back and forth from the room to the bathroom, as if he wanted to tell him that I am not okay.
- Team Work
If you want to see how you & your spouse “ Co-parent”, Adopt a dog, It will be such a good practice. It teaches you about caring for a living creature that is dependent upon you. Don’t get me wrong, I am not comparing dogs with humans – but it’s the same concept. If you are not cooperating with the new dog’s responsibilities, chances are (or there is a big probability) you both will repeat the same pattern when you have babies.
- Positive Vibes
I can’t recall how many times I got home feeling stressed out for whatever reason, and the moment I arrive home and how i am welcomed in so much love, care and happiness, my mood changes completely. My boys pass on so much positive vibes, empathy and love.
- Better Sleep
Ever since we had Johnny & Semsem Aka Popeye, my sleep has improved remarkably. They made me feel safe, comfy & cozy. They are now my snuggle buddies J
I can’t wait to see how Leo, Semsem & Johnny are going to deal with our babies, and I am pretty sure they will take good care of me starting my first trimester.
I will write another article very soon about how we adopted Leil, rescued Leil, Mahouz, Johnny & Popeye xx
